Farewell Statement

It’s hard to find the perfect way to convey our gratitude without being vague about why we have come to this decision. You see these kind of announcements all the time, another band calls it quits. We always told ourselves that when this season was over that we wouldn't float into oblivion, disrespecting your love and support over the years. We wouldn't just disappear without saying thank you and without transparency. It's not short and concise, but it is open and honest. This is for those of you who have walked this journey with us, either for a short while or from day one.

In 2015, we both quit our jobs, sold our home and moved from Ohio to Nashville, TN. A leap of faith to say the least. Leaps don't usually come with cotton candy clouds at the bottom, but we did find the bottom. For almost a year and a half our new season looked mostly like health issues for Emily and financial hardship. We continued to play shows and put out an EP with some of our proudest musical moments on it. A spot of sunshine in a dark year.

Fast forwarded to this past spring, creative work for Nathan started coming from every direction. It was an answer to many desperate prayers. That was just the beginning of the breakthrough we continue to see in our lives, Praise God!

We could feel the season shift…EVEN BEFORE the answers to our prayers started to manifest. After a year of holding on so tightly, we so clearly and gently heard the Lord saying to let go. We don't really know what's coming but we know that this chapter is now giving way to the next. We will never stop dreaming. The Lord lays our path before our feet. We have never been so surrendered and trusting, even in the face of so much unknown.

We love the band! This project has been the most challenging and rewarding experience of our lives. It was a GOOD gift to us from the Lord, we are so humbled He entrusted us with this. Our first band that we started as teenagers gave us the stories of a lifetime. We believe that the Lord has already made this a building block for the rest of our triumphant story. We crave your prayers and love as much as ever as we seek out what the Lord has for us. We open up our hands to receive whatever He has now, in this new season.

Thank you for your part in this journey. It's been truly an honor to share our songs and hearts with you over the years. To be a part of the landscape of Christian music in this way is something we could have never seen when we started out. We have gained so much throughout these years and God is so good. Our hearts are so full of gratitude thinking of all the wonderful relationships that have formed because of the band. We want to celebrate you, we want to celebrate everything good that God has done through this project.

On Saturday, November 19th at Orrville Christian Church in Orrville, Ohio we are having a farewell event. This church is home for us and no other place felt more right. We will be playing stripped down renditions of our songs, reminiscing and just hanging out. This is the end of a huge chapter in our lives. We have SO many people to thank so this event is for you. We love you all so much and hope you can make it out to come celebrate with us!
